Participation

You may participate in the commencement exercise if you have met graduation requirements in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. On graduation day, all participants must arrive at the commencement meeting area no later than 2:00 pm.


Reserved Parking and Special Accommodations

Due to safety considerations and space limitations, parking at this year’s commencement venue will be limited. Designated parking for graduates will be available in the Koblerville Gym field on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you, a family member, or a guest requires special accommodations, you must submit a request by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than May 8, 2026 (two [2] weeks before commencement). Each graduate may request accommodations for a maximum of two (2) individuals. No requests will be entertained the week of commencement. 

We are committed to ensuring that you and your family can fully participate in this important milestone. If you or your guests require accessible parking accommodation for graduation day, please follow the procedure outlined below:

Disability Parking Pass Process:

  • When: Disability parking passes will be distributed on the day of graduation rehearsal
  • Where: At the check-in table (announcement will be made on where to pick up the pass)
  • Who qualifies: Graduates or their family members with mobility concerns

Important Notes:

  • Passes are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Each eligible student/family will receive one (1) accessible parking pass
  • The pass must be displayed visibly on your dashboard on graduation day
  • Accessible parking spaces will be clearly marked and located near the venue entrance

Livestream

We recognize the significance of this moment in your academic journey and are actively exploring alternative ways to include as many graduates and their loves ones as possible in the celebration.

The commencement ceremony will be livestreamed on NMC's Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.

 

 

Caps, Gowns, Tassels and Sashes

As of March 2, 2026, the NMC Bookstore began announcing that the Associate's and Bachelor's regalia are ready for purchase. All purchases must be paid the same day. The last day to purchase regalia is May 21, 2026. 

Cap, Gown, and Tassel (Open till May 21, 2026)

  • AA/AS or BA/BS Package (Cap, Gown, Tassel) - $75.00
  • AA/AS or BA/BS Gown - $35.00 *Sizes vary from: 4’10” - 6’3”
  • AA/AS or BA/BS Cap - $22.00
  • AA/AS or BA/BS Tassel - $25.00   

Sash

  • AA/AS Sash - $35.00
  • BA/BS Sash - $40.00  

How to Purchase Your Regalia?

  1. Purchases can be made in person by visiting the ProaStore on campus in Building V, 1st Fl.
  2. Purchase online at proastore.marianas.edu using a Credit/Debit Card and pick up later.

Honor Cords

Honors cords will be provided to students who meet academic standing requirements for Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude. Honors cords will be provided at no cost. NMC Enrollment Services staff will issue honors cords to qualifying graduates on Commencement day, please be sure to arrive at the site by 2:00pm.

Grad Nominations

Distinguished Graduate Awards Nominations 

Our two distinguished awards are the Excellence in Leadership and Excellence in Service awards. Any NMC student, faculty, or staff may nominate a graduating student for the 2026 distinguished awards. Nominations are open for both Associate & Bachelors degree levels.

Award nominations will be open from now through Friday May 1, 2026. To nominate a graduate, use the links provided below:

2025 Excellence in Leadership Nomination: The Excellence in Leadership Award is given to the graduating student (1 Associates or 1 Baccalaureate) who leads by example, living their values authentically and inspiring others to do the same. These exceptional leaders possess not only skills, but empathy, humility, and an unwavering commitment to ethical behavior. They go beyond personal excellence, fostering a culture where others are empowered to discover and develop their own leadership potential.

2025 Excellence in Service Nomination: The Excellence in Leadership award is given to the graduating student (1 Associates and 1 Baccalaureate) who consistently goes above and beyond, exemplifying a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.  Their commitment to service has significantly impacted the proa community by demonstrating exceptional leadership, dedication, and positive influence.

Call for Spring 2026 Student Speaker Auditions!

NMC invites members of the Class of 2026 to apply for the opportunity to serve as a Student Speaker at this year’s commencement ceremony. Selection as a Student Speaker is a distinguished honor, offering the opportunity to deliver the student commencement address on behalf of the graduating class, the faculty who have supported their academic journey, and the staff who have guided their college experience.

All associate’s and bachelor’s degree graduating candidates are eligible to audition.

One Student Speaker will be selected from each class this semester. Selected students will be required to participate in a coaching session with a faculty member in preparation for the commencement ceremony.

Student speakers will have 3-5 minutes to audition for a selection committee. This translates to approximately 400 - 650 words or 2-3 pages (double-spaced), Times New Roman, 12 pt. The deadline to register to audition is Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:59 pm.

Auditions will be held the following week. Audition dates and times will be provided once registration has closed. Please complete and submit the 2026 Student Speaker Registration Form.
