The latest news from Northern Marianas College

Due to the widespread impact and ongoing recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, Northern Marianas College has announced the postponement of the 2026 Commencement Exercises, originally scheduled for May 22, 2026.

The safety of NMC graduates, their families, faculty, and staff remains the College’s highest priority. While the college infrastructure and the broader community undergo essential repairs and power restoration, the College is committed to ensuring that Class of 2026 graduates receive the celebration they have earned in a safe and accessible environment at a later, more appropriate date.

Path Forward

NMC is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of available venues, times, and dates to reschedule this milestone event — including potential alternative sites — to accommodate the graduating class.

Additional details and FAQs have already been sent by official NMC email to graduating students.

The College will share further updates as they become available.

This postponement also applies to related ceremonies, including:

  • Sands of Time
  • Nursing Pinning Ceremony
  • Passing of the Torch
  • Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society
