For the love of sports, science, and health, Assistant Professor Denise Myers runs headlong into all things physical.
From the time she started studying at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (B.E. in exercise physiology), she wondered how to earn a living through exercise—believing that science and sports are so interconnected and essential to active living. To put this philosophy into practice with a Masters from Georgia State University, Professor Myers made the long trip to the Pacific. While here, she manages two important grants at the college, one from the National Science Foundation and the other aiming to provide sporting opportunities to NMI college students on top of the great work she does in the classroom. In her free time, you can find her at the beach playing volleyball, out in the jungle hiking and exploring new places, at AMP running or training; soccer, triathlons, ultimate frisbee—you name it. She even brought her athletic talents to the Pacific Mini-Games, winning silver for the CNMI in the steeple chase. What a great person we have in SMHA, at NMC, here on Saipan passionate about competition, knowledge, fitness, and athletics: our very own Denise Myers.
