Students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing can apply to become part of the Northern Marianas College Nursing Department’s newest cohort in the Fall 2026 semester. Those who meet the program’s requirements can submit their application beginning Monday, April 13, to Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The selection of students will be based on the following criteria: a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher; completion of all Core Course prerequisites (except SO 297) and General Education prerequisites with a grade of “C” or higher; the ability to understand, speak, and write in English; and a passing score on the program’s Admission Test. For the Fall 2026 Admission Period, the criteria for passing the Admission Test for all applicants are an average score of 70% or higher, including 70% or higher in both Reading and Science.
The Admission Test for eligible Fall 2026 applicants will be administered on June 10-11, 2026. Pre-Nursing students completing their prerequisites by the end of the Summer 2026 Session must plan to apply for admission for Fall 2027 and take the Admission Test in June 2027.
The number of students selected will also depend on faculty availability to teach the nursing courses. For the Fall 2026 cohort, the class size is limited to 20 students. If there is not enough space for all qualified applicants, a waitlist will be established for Fall 2027.
Students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with their nursing advisor via email as early as possible to review prerequisites, transcripts, and overall eligibility status.
Selection of students for the Fall 2026 Cohort will be completed by mid-July. Notification letters will be sent to each applicant using the NMC Student Email address provided in their application. The Application Form can be downloaded from www.marianas.edu/nursing.
