RUFINA Sablan, the youngest of eight siblings, is the 14th Fire Academy valedictorian. Sablan was among the 30 new firefighters sworn in at the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services’ 14th Cycle Fire Academy graduation ceremony on Jan. 7 in Kensington Hall.

Kathy Winkfield is what you call a true gamer. Weeks after giving birth, the 40-year-old Math instructor at Northern Marianas College topped the women’s division of the King and Queen of the Court last Nov. 11 at the sand courts of the Crowne Plaza Resort.

Été Cafe is the latest company to sign on as a Northern Marianas College ProaPerks Partner, joining many other businesses and organizations. All card-carrying members of the NMC ProaPerks program can now receive a 10% discount (excluding cake orders).

For the 14th consecutive year, the Northern Marianas College received a favorable audit opinion on its financial statements, this time for fiscal year 2020. The independent audit was prepared by the accounting firm Burger Comer Magliari.

OVER 1,200 toys were distributed to children as part of the 2021 Toys for Tots program in the CNMI. The project was initiated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, and the Associated Students of Northern Marianas College.

Northern Marianas College campuses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will be closed from Dec. 20, 2021 to Jan. 2, 2022. Offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.
