NORTHERN Marianas College and the Department of Public Works on Tuesday signed a memorandum of agreement to establish an on-the-job training and social support program. The program is for women, minorities, and other disadvantaged individuals who are interested in highway construction careers.
Partners and volunteers of The Governor’s Council of Economic Advisers-Public Private Partnership program started the year by completing three community improvement projects. Northern Marianas Sports Association, Shirley’s Football Club/Shirley’s Coffee Shop, and Northern Marianas College completed adopt-a-median projects in high-traffic intersections on Saipan. The organizations gave streets, medians, curbs, and barriers much-needed facelifts and helped improve the safety and visibility of the medians and curbs for motorists and pedestrians.

With approximately 96.7% of the CNMI’s eligible population fully vaccinated, combined with the expansion of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster shot eligibility to 12- to 17-year-olds, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force and the CHCC is updating its quarantine protocols in accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease and Control’s guidance.
