Ensuring our local producers have the resources they need to make the best farming decisions, the Northern Marianas College (NMC) Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (CREES) Agriculture Production Program, in collaboration with Division of Land & Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Agriculture (DoA), collected soil samples from various cultivated and uncultivated plots across Kagman, As Lito, and As Perdido for further analysis.

As of 7:00 p.m., the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) has canceled the tsunami advisory for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. As a result, Gov. David M. Apatang, in coordination with the CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (CNMI HSEM), has declared the “All Clear” for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Please see the attached advisories for more information.

All Northern Marianas College campuses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will reopen and resume normal working hours tomorrow, Thursday, July 31, 2025. Classes will also resume as scheduled.

The CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, has issued a Tsunami Watch for the coastal areas of the Northern Mariana Islands, including Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands.
