Ismail Hossain and Kelly Zheng, two students from the CNMI and youth delegates of 4-H Marianas, concluded their “One Marianas” project, with Hossain attending the True Leaders in Equity Institute (TLEI) conference in Bethesda, Maryland alongside 4-H Marianas Board Member and TLEI Co-Advisor Chelsea Yangirelfil. The conference prepares delegations to become change agents within the Cooperative Extension System to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for youth with disabilities. 

The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (NMC-CREES) is hosting free nutrition and healthy cooking classes through the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) for all parents and caregivers of children under 18.

The Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute and School of Education, in partnership with the CNMI Public School System Career and Technical Education Program, recently hosted the 2024 cohort of the Teacher Academy Summer Program (TASP).

Many enthusiastic summer campers ages 7 to 12 recently concluded a week-long adventure at this year’s 4-H Camp Maga’lahi Tinian, held at the Fiesta Grounds from July 8 to July 12. Guided by staff and counselors ages 13 to 19, campers were able to participate in an immersive experience that fostered teamwork and cultural exploration. The outdoor camp experience provided lasting memories and valuable skills for all participants.

Amanda Santos and Lee Roy Sablan Jr. have gone from graduating Proas of the Northern Marianas College to actively playing a crucial part in the CNMI’s bird conservation efforts at the Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) under the CNMI Department of Lands and Natural Resources (DLNR).

During its recent regular board meeting on June 27, 2024, the Northern Marianas College (NMC) Board of Regents adopted a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy aimed to enhance the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff.
